Basketball Recap: Darius Alexander Key Part of a Team Effort in Sentinels Win

There's no place like home for Spanaway Lake, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Thursday. The stars were shining brightly for them in a 64-46 win over the Bethel Bison on Wednesday. That's more bragging rights for the Sentinels, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Spanaway Lake's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Darius Alexander, who posted 17 points in addition to eight assists and five boards. Alexander is crushing it when it comes to points: he's scored at least 17 every time he's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Key'Andre White, who almost dropped a double-double on 19 points and nine rebounds.

Alexander wasn't the only one working in the assists department: Spanaway Lake was working as a unit and finished the game with 15 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

Spanaway Lake is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a nice bump to their 4-2 record this season. As for Bethel, their defeat was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-7.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Spanaway Lake will venture away from home to square off against Emerald Ridge at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Spanaway Lake knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past four contests -- so hopefully Emerald Ridge likes a good challenge. As for Bethel, they will head out to face off against Sumner at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
