Joe Ray Chavez and Marcus Mendez provided fans with a highlight when they connected against Lordsburg. The connection was good for 67 yards, the longest such play in 2A District 3 this season.
Cobre added to the longest winning streak in the league this week by beating Mesilla Valley Christian, 59-6. The win marks eighth in a row for the the Indians.
Hatch Valley's Chase Carson needs only 54 yards against the Mavericks next week to surpass 1,000 rushing yards for the season. In 113 carries Carson has accumulated 946 yard this year.
