The Silver Bluff Bulldogs came tearing into Thursday's contest with nine straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 31.4 points) and they left with even more momentum. They breezed by Barnwell at home to the tune of 57-10. Silver Bluff has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won nine matchups by 25 points or more this season.
It was another big night for Krystal Johnson, who dropped a double-double on 26 points and ten rebounds. She has been hot recently, having posted eight or more rebounds the last eight times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Ahminah Taylor, who scored 12 points along with eight rebounds and two steals.
Silver Bluff pushed their record up to 11-1 with that victory, which was their 16th straight at home dating back to last season. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 56.4 points per game. As for Barnwell, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-6.
Silver Bluff will head out on the road to challenge McCormick at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Barnwell, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Ridgeland-Hardeeville at 6:00 p.m. Hopefully Ridgeland-Hardeeville focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 12 on Saturday.
