Stagg is 2-8 against Bear Creek since May of 2021 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Thursday. The Delta Kings will challenge the Bruins at 4:00 p.m. Stagg is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.2 runs per game this season.
Stagg managed to slip by Tokay the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. The Delta Kings came up short against the Tigers on Tuesday, falling 7-0. While getting shut out isn't ideal, the Delta Kings haven't been shut out since back in February.
Stagg saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jorge Hernandez, who went 2-for-3 with one double.
Meanwhile, Bear Creek put another one in the bag on Tuesday to keep their perfect season alive. They were the clear victors by a 13-2 margin over Franklin. The result was nothing new for the Bruins, who have now won four matches by ten runs or more so far this season.
Alyson Maloy was a standout: she went a perfect 4-for-4 with four runs, three RBI, and one triple. Amiyah Owens was another key player, scoring three runs and stealing three bases while going 3-for-4.
Bear Creek pushed their record up to 9-0 with the win, which was their fourth straight on the road. The road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.5 runs over those games. As for Stagg, their defeat was their first in the league, dropping their league record down to 4-1 and their overall record down to 10-3.
Thursday's contest will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Stagg hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .359. However, it's not like Bear Creek struggles in that department as they've averaged .425. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
