The Avonworth Antelopes will take on the Elizabeth Forward Warriors at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Avonworth put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their perfect season alive. They were the clear victor by a 41-21 margin over Beaver. The score at the end of the third wound up being the final score as Avonworth just coasted through the last quarter.
Avonworth can attribute much of their success to Dimitri Velisaris, who rushed for 202 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 7.8 yards per carry, and Andrew Kuban, who gained 213 total yards and three touchdowns. Kuban was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 66 yards.
Meanwhile, Elizabeth Forward had already proven themselves in the regular season, and didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They put the hurt on West Mifflin with a sharp 42-21 victory on Friday. The victory was just what Elizabeth Forward needed coming off of a 49-28 defeat in their prior contest.
Charlie Nigut was the offensive standout of the matchup as he rushed for 170 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 8.5 yards per carry. Charlie Meehleib was in the mix as well, providing Elizabeth Forward with two touchdowns.
Avonworth has yet to lose a match at home this season, leaving them with a 11-0 record. As for Elizabeth Forward, their win bumped their record up to 10-1.
