Heartland Lutheran's loss came despite strong showings from Ema Koch and Aubree Fisket. Koch scored 11 points, while Fisket scored five points along with five steals. Koch continues to roll, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played. Aryka Keiper was another key contributor, scoring two points along with two steals and two blocks.
Central Valley's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Callie Wadas, who scored 11 points along with seven rebounds. Another player making a difference was Cayle Grossart, who scored nine points along with eight rebounds and two steals.
Heartland Lutheran has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost six of their last eight matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-11 record this season. As for Central Valley, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a nice bump to their 10-7 record this season.
Heartland Lutheran won't have much time to rest: their next game is against St. Edward at 6:00 p.m. on January 26th. St. Edward is hoping to put an end to a seven-game streak of away losses. As for Central Valley, they will head out on the road to take on Anselmo-Merna at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
