Centennial hasn't had much luck against Rocky Mountain recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. Centennial will be playing at home against Rocky Mountain at 5:00 p.m. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.
Centennial is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Idaho's top teams: Highland, who was ranked second at the time (Centennial was ranked 24th). Centennial blew past Highland 15-4 on Saturday. The win continues a trend for the Patriots in their matchups with the Rams: they've now won four in a row.
Charlize Veldhouse'27 made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she tossed 2.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. That one hit allowed gave her a new career-low. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with three runs and one triple. That triple was her first of the season.

In other batting news, Centennial let Avery Simpson and Cali Moorhouse ?26 run wild. Simpson went a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs, while Moorhouse ?26 scored two runs while getting on base in all five of her plate appearances. The dominant performance also gave Moorhouse ?26 a new career-high in RBI (three). Josie Moorhouse was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 1-for-4.
Centennial always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .525. They are a perfect 4-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.
Meanwhile, Rocky Mountain got the win against Thunder Ridge on Saturday by a conclusive 11-1. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Grizzlies.
Danica Quinn was a major factor no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out seven batters over five innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits (and only one walk). She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in ten consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, scoring two runs while going 1-for-2.
In other batting news, Aubrey Sorensen and Tayler Klozcko did most of the damage at the plate: Sorensen went a perfect 1-for-1 with one home run and four RBI, while Klozcko scored a run while going 3-for-3. Another player making a difference was Hadley Griggs, who went 1-for-2 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI.
Centennial's victory bumped their record up to 7-5. As for Rocky Mountain, they now have a winning record of 7-6.
Centennial might still be hurting after the 24-7 loss they got from Rocky Mountain in their previous matchup back in March of 2024. Can Centennial avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
