Shadow Ridge and Coronado are an even 5-5 against one another since May of 2021, but likely not for long. The Mustangs will look to defend their home field on Friday against the Cougars at 3:30 p.m. Shadow Ridge is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last three games.
If Shadow Ridge beats Coronado with eight runs on Friday, it's going to be the team's new lucky number: they've won their past two games with that exact score. The Mustangs beat Arbor View on Wednesday by the very same score they won with in their prior game: 8-6.
Alyssa Sagory looked comfortable as she tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs off one hit.
At the plate, Devaeh Crawford was incredible, going 3-for-4 with one home run and three runs. Rosely Hensley-Mokiao was another key player, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs and one RBI.
Shadow Ridge kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 15 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Arbor View only managed nine.
Coronado came out on top against Bishop Gorman on Wednesday thanks in part to the team's impressive nine-run sixth inning. The Cougars put the hurt on the Gaels with a sharp 12-2 victory.
Aubrie Sisler spent all six innings played on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned runs on eight hits.
On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Bailey Goldberg, who got on base in four of her five plate appearances with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in March of 2025. The team also got some help courtesy of Isabella Basta, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with three RBI and one run.
Shadow Ridge's win bumped their record up to 3-0. As for Coronado, their victory bumped their record up to 2-0.
Shadow Ridge skirted past Coronado 6-5 in their previous matchup back in May of 2025. Will the Mustangs repeat their success, or do the Cougars have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
