Harmony Meece was huge no matter where she played even without the win. She struck out nine batters over ten innings while giving up three earned (and six unearned) runs off nine hits. Meece was also stellar in the batter's box, going 1-for-4 with one home run and three RBI.
In other batting news, Elizabeth Forbes was cooking despite her team's loss, going 1-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base. She has been hot, having posted at least one stolen base the last six times she's played. Emily Jeffries was another key player, going 2-for-5 with two runs, one double, and one RBI.
Casey County's loss dropped their record down to 8-7. As for Madison Central, their victory bumped their record up to 10-3.
Coincidentally, Casey County and Madison Central will both be playing Perry County Central the next time they take the field. The Rebels will head out to face the Commodores at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, while the Indians will play them later in the day, at 3:00 p.m.
