On Friday Russell take on Fleming County at 7:30 PM. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.

Russell won against Boyd County two weeks ago with 49 points, and Russell decided to stick to that point total again last Friday. Russell steamrollered West Carter 49-14. The matchup was all but wrapped up at the end of the third, by which point Russell had established a 49-14 advantage.

Meanwhile, Fleming County have had to suffer through a 3-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They made easy work of Lewis County and carried off a 47-22 win. Fleming County were expected to win, but the margin was definitely larger than the state rankings had forecast.

Their wins bumped Fleming County to 2-4 and Russell to 3-3. Given their high-scoring efforts against their previous opponents, it will be interesting to see how far up these teams can run up the score.
