The Indianapolis Lutheran Saints will take on the Trinity Lutheran Cougars at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Indianapolis Lutheran has six straight victories, Trinity Lutheran has five straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
Indianapolis Lutheran barely beat Covenant Christian the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Saints put the hurt on the Warriors with a sharp 10-1 win on Tuesday. The result was nothing new for the Saints, who have now won five games by seven runs or more so far this season.
Lilly Schultz looked comfortable as she pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks in eight consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Leyla Miller was incredible, going 3-for-4 with one home run, six RBI, and two runs. Those six RBI gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Alena Hall, who went 1-for-2 with two runs.
Indianapolis Lutheran was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .406. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Covenant Christian only posted a batting average of .167.
Meanwhile, Tuesday just wasn't the day for Trinity Lutheran's offense. They came up short against West Washington on Tuesday, falling 11-0.
Indianapolis Lutheran's victory bumped their record up to 9-2. As for Trinity Lutheran, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-8.
Trinity Lutheran's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Indianapolis Lutheran has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .469. It's a different story for Trinity Lutheran, though, as they've only averaged .325. Will they be able to contain Indianapolis Lutheran's hitters?
