The Foothills Christian Knights will face off against the Escondido Charter Tigers at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Foothills Christian 3.9, Escondido Charter 2.2) so any runs scored will be well earned.
On Tuesday, Foothills Christian didn't have quite enough to beat Bishop's and fell 3-2. Foothills Christian has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Emma Romeka put in work no matter where she played. She struck out six batters over six innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off six hits (and not a single walk). She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than one walk in three consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with two RBI and one double.
Romeka wasn't the only one making solid contact as five players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Kenidi Phoenix, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base.
Meanwhile, it may have taken eight innings to finish the job, but Escondido Charter ultimately got the result they hoped for on Tuesday. They skirted past Tri-City Christian 5-4. The Tigers haven't had any issues with the Eagles recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive victory against them.
Like Foothills Christian, Escondido Charter also got a great game from a two-way player: Lilly Harper. On the mound, she struck out eight batters over 8.1 innings while giving up just two earned (and two unearned) runs off five hits. Harper was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with one triple and one RBI.
In other batting news, Zaliyah Jones was excellent, going 2-for-5 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double. Another player making a difference was Olivia Smith, who went 1-for-4 with one triple, one run, and one RBI.
Escondido Charter's win bumped their record up to 20-4. As for Foothills Christian, they now have a losing record of 8-9.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Thursday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Foothills Christian has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 6.8 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Escondido Charter struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 7.5 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
Foothills Christian might still be hurting after the 10-0 defeat they got from Escondido Charter in their previous meeting back in April. Will the Knights have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check back here after the action for a full breakdown and analysis of the contest.
