The Northside Patriots were the 58-43 winner over the Harris County Tigers when they last played one another back in February of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. The matchup between the pair wasn't particularly close, with Northside falling 68-51. While losing is never fun, they can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 305th, while Harris County is ranked 62nd).
Northside's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Zariah Davis, who scored 18 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Keke Hunter, who scored ten points.
Northside's defeat was their fifth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 6-13. As for Harris County, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 13 of their last 14 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 17-2 record this season.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Northside's road trip will continue as they head out to face Drew at 5:30 p.m. on January 26th. Drew has now lost seven straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since December 9. As for Harris County, they will head out on the road to take on McIntosh at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
