There wasn't a ton of movement in the power rankings this week, but there was certainly enough to keep things interesting. Among the action were the efforts of Mount Si's senior Cale Millen, an offensive menace who scored six total TDs.
Can't Touch This
Mount Vernon's 49 - 24 win over Jackson last week had a lot to do with the leadership of senior Seth Tercero. Tercero ran for 210 yards and also punched in four touchdowns. That performance made Tercero one of the best players in the power rankings last week.
This Week's Big Showdown
One of the hottest tickets last week involved the clash between O'Dea (4th in the power rankings) and Rainier Beach (14th). O'Dea took its game by a score of 35 - 24. Senior Emonte Scott was a big part of the win as his strong performance led the charge (he threw for 152 yards and two touchdowns).
No Stoppin 'Em
Lake Stevens was heavily favored to win coming into its game last week, and the results showcase why. The final score between it and Cascade was a 69 - 20 blowout in Lake Stevens's favor. Lake Stevens had two big standouts, as senior Tre' Long tossed the ball for 164 yards and five TDs, while senior Thomas Lewis rushed for 111 yards and three touchdowns. The combined 89 points was the most of any game featuring a power-ranked team.
Next Week's Big Game
If you are itching to watch a first-rate contest, no game is supposed to fit the bill better than the one between Bishop Blanchet (17th in the power rankings) and Eastside Catholic (1st). Both teams have their heads held high after dominating their previous opponents. Keep an eye on the score for this one: both Eastside Catholic and Bishop Blanchet put up some lofty point totals in their previous games, so things might heat up even more when they play one another this week.
