It was a good run, but the Bruceville-Eddy Eagles unfortunately witnessed the end of their four-game winning streak on Saturday. They ended up on the wrong side of a rough 48-22 walloping at the hands of McGregor. Having soared to a lofty 64 points in the game before, Bruceville-Eddy couldn't push the score so high this time.
Despite the loss, Bruceville-Eddy still got an impressive performance from Elaina Mcculloch, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 14 rebounds. Mcculloch scored a full 54.5% of Bruceville-Eddy's points, the fourth time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Kambrie Diaz, who scored four points along with six rebounds.
Bruceville-Eddy's loss ended a five-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 11-7. As for McGregor, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matches, which provided a massive bump to their 8-10 record this season.
Bruceville-Eddy and Hill Country Christian School of Austin will face off at 3:30 p.m. on December 9th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Hill Country Christian School of Austin presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Bruceville-Eddy in Texas (Hill Country Christian School of Austin is ranked 329th, while Bruceville-Eddy is ranked 999th). McGregor will be staying on the road on Tuesday to face off against Little River Academy at 6:15 p.m. on December 12th.
