The Lago Vista Vikings had to endure a nine-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They walked away with a 35-28 victory over Marble Falls on Friday. The victory was just what Lago Vista needed coming off of a 52-31 loss in their prior contest.
Lago Vista's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Mia Kinslow, who scored ten points along with five rebounds and two steals. Another player making a difference was Saylor Stamos, who scored ten points along with two blocks.
Lexie Edwards and Bethany Fry certainly did their best on Friday to avoid the loss. Edwards scored 12 points along with six rebounds and four blocks, while Fry scored seven points along with seven rebounds and three steals. That was a full 42.9% of Marble Falls' points, marking the fourth time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points.
Lago Vista's victory ended a eight-game drought at home and bumped them up to 11-19. As for Marble Falls, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 7-23.
Lago Vista will head out on the road to challenge the Bulldogs at 6:15 p.m. on Tuesday. The timing is sure in Burnet's favor as the team sits on six straight wins at home while the Vikings have been banged up by three consecutive losses on the road. Marble Falls does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
