In other batting news, Tussey Mountain let Landon Myers and Connor Jones run wild. Myers got on base in all four of his plate appearances with one home run and two runs, while Jones scored two runs while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances. The dominant performance also gave Jones a new career-high in RBI (three). Ben Kormanski was another key player, scoring a run while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances.
Tussey Mountain always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .610. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Claysburg-Kimmel only posted an OBP of .320.
Tussey Mountain pushed their record up to 2-0 with the victory, which was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.2 runs on average over those games. As for Southern Huntingdon County, their loss dropped their record down to 0-3.
