Softball Recap: Villa Rica Has No Trouble Against Temple

Villa Rica lost a heartbreaker the last time they played Temple, but it's fair to say they got their revenge given the result of Monday's matchup. The Wildcats were the clear victors by a 12-3 margin over the Tigers on Monday. For the Wildcats, this counts as revenge for the 9-7 victory the Tigers walked away with the last time they faced one another back in August of 2024.

Helaina Magistro made a splash no matter where she played. On the mound, she pitched five innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off six hits. Magistro was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with two runs and two RBI. Those two RBI gave her a new career-high.

In other batting news, Parker Harrison was incredible, firing off two home runs, three runs, and four RBI while going 3-for-4. Those four RBI gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Alexis Jones, who went 1-for-2 with four stolen bases, one run, and one RBI.

Villa Rica has started the season off flawlessly and has a 2-0 record to show for it.

Looking ahead, Villa Rica will head out to take on Bowdon at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Temple, they will be defending their home field for the first time this season when they go up against Chapel Hill at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
