St. Mary Catholic is 0-10 against Mishicot since April of 2018 but things could change on Tuesday. The Zephyrs will welcome the Indians at 4:30 p.m. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Having struggled with seven defeats in a row, St. Mary Catholic turned things around against Manitowoc Lutheran on Monday. They walked away with an 8-4 win over the Lancers.
Gabrielle Guerrero made a big impact no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, pitching seven innings while giving up three earned (and one unearned) runs off four hits. Guerrero was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with one run and one RBI.
In other batting news, St. Mary Catholic got a big performance out of Emily Vogel, who went 1-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double. Sammi Weis was another key player, going 2-for-4 with one run, one double, and one RBI.
Meanwhile, Mishicot got themselves on the board against Reedsville on Monday, but Reedsville never followed suit. They were the clear victors by a 10-0 margin over the Panthers. The result was nothing new for the Indians, who have now won 12 contests by six runs or more so far this season.
Kaelin Adair was a standout: she went 3-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI. That triple marked the first that she has hit this season. Another player making a difference was Eva Boness, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs, one stolen base, and one double.
Mishicot was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .444. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Reedsville only posted a batting average of .067.
Mishicot's victory was their 13th straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 18-4. Those road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.3 runs over those games. As for St. Mary Catholic, their victory bumped their record up to 4-13.
