After flying high against the Huffman Vikings last Friday, The Pell City Panthers came back down to earth. Pell City fell just short of Pinson Valley by a score of 41-38. Pell City has struggled against Pinson Valley recently, as their game on Thursday was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.
Defeat or not, Pell City got some senior leadership from Caleb Groce who gained 101 total yards and three touchdowns and Markise Bedford who rushed for 120 yards and a touchdown on only 13 carries.
Pell City has been struggling recently, as they've lost four of their last five contests, which is still a better percentage than their 1-8 record this season. As for Pinson Valley, their win was their third straight on the road, which bumped their overall record up to 4-5.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Pell City will challenge Springville at 7:00 p.m. on November 3rd. Pinson Valley will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Muscle Shoals at 7:00 p.m. on November 10th.
