Baseball Recap: East River Triumphs

It was a Battle of the Birds when East River took on The Master's Academy on Tuesday. The Falcons came out on top against the Eagles by a score of 6-2. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Falcons.

Brandyn Figueroa looked comfortable as he pitched 3.1 innings while giving up no earned runs off three hits. He is becoming a predictor of East River's success: when he allows at most three earned runs the team is 2-1 (and 6-8 when he doesn't).

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Jake Roberts, who went 1-for-2 with three RBI, one stolen base, and one run. Those three RBI gave him a new career-high.

East River's win bumped their record up to 8-9. As for The Master's Academy, they dropped their record down to 7-11 with the defeat, which was their fourth straight on the road.

East River has already played their next contest, a 4-0 loss against Montverde Academy on the 1st. As for The Master's Academy, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 9-6 defeat against James River Midlothian on the 1st.
