The Bishop Dunne Falcons waltzed into their contest on Tuesday with four straight wins but they left with five. They had just enough and edged Grace Community out 44-41. For Bishop Dunne, this counts as revenge for the 68-58 defeat the Cougars walked away with the last time they faced one another back in January.
Bishop Dunne found their leader in underclassman Green Johnny, who dropped a double-double on 21 points and ten rebounds. That makes it six consecutive games in which Johnny has scored at least a third of Bishop Dunne's points. Burke Martensen was another key contributor, scoring 13 points.
Bishop Dunne pushed their record up to 13-13 with that win, which was their fourth straight at home. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 61.0 points per game. As for Grace Community, their loss dropped their record down to 17-13.
Bishop Dunne will head out on the road to face off against the Lions at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Grapevine Faith Christian focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up ten last Friday. As for Grace Community, they will be playing in front of their home fans against the Lions at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Coram Deo Academy is coming into the contest on a six-game losing streak.
