McAdory hasn't had much luck against Calera recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Yellowjackets will head out on the road to face off against the Eagles at 4:30 p.m. McAdory will be strutting in after a win while Calera will be coming in after a loss.
Calera will challenge a team with plenty of momentum: McAdory extended their winning streak to three on Thursday. The Yellowjackets put the hurt on Bessemer City with a sharp 17-0 victory. The Yellowjackets' pitching crew has been rock solid lately; the team hasn't given up a run in their last three games.

Addison Mitchell made a splash while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out eight batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and not a single walk). Those eight strikeouts gave her a new career-high. She was also solid in the batter's box, going a perfect 1-for-1 with two runs and one triple.
In other batting news, Payton Yarbrough was a standout: she scored three runs while going 3-for-3. That's the most runs she has posted over her last nine matchups. Josie Mahaffey was another key player, scoring three runs and stealing two bases while going 1-for-2.
McAdory was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .571. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .429 or higher in three consecutive contests.
Meanwhile, Calera fell victim to Auburn and their airtight pitching crew on Monday. They lost 6-0 to the Tigers. The Eagles have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Calera saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Isabelle Overton, who went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases.
McAdory's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 19-9-1. Those home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 15.7 runs over those games. As for Calera, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-18.
Calera's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: McAdory has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .444. It's a different story for Calera, though, as they've only averaged .342. Will they be able to contain McAdory's hitters?
McAdory skirted past Calera 5-4 in their previous matchup back in March. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Yellowjackets since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
