Richardson is 7-0 against the Tigers since January of 2021, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Tuesday. The Richardson Eagles will head out on the road to square off against the Irving Tigers at 7:00 p.m. Richardson is looking to tack on another W to their four-game streak on the road.
Last Friday, Richardson got the win against the Mustangs by a conclusive 55-35.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Richardson to victory, but perhaps none more so than Averie Farrell, who scored 15 points along with three steals. Farrell hasn't dropped below two steals for three straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Ciera Hanks, who scored six points along with 19 rebounds.
Meanwhile, Irving was beaten by the Scots 74-43 on Tuesday. While losing is never fun, Irving can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 926th, while the Scots are ranked 118th).
Richardson has been performing well recently as they've won eight of their last ten matches, which provided a nice bump to their 21-13 record this season. As for Irving, they have not been sharp recently as the team's lost eight of their last nine contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 12-16 record this season.
Richardson strolled past the Tigers in their previous matchup back in January by a score of 66-47. One of the biggest obstacles the team faced in that game was Irving's Taliah Martin, who scored 31 points. Now that she's got a second chance to win this matchup, will Richardson still be able to contain Martin? There's only one way to find out.
