The Parkland Matadors were the 55-41 winner over the Bel Air Highlanders when they last played one another back in January of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. Parkland received a tough blow on Friday as they fell 59-45 to Bel Air. Parkland has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Bel Air can attribute much of their success to Korryn Barnes, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and 11 rebounds. Another player making a difference was Anthony Favela, who scored ten points along with three steals.
Parkland has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost six of their last eight games, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-14 record this season. As for Bel Air, their win ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 10-11.
Parkland's homestand continues as they prepare to take on Hanks at 6:00 p.m. on January 16th. Hanks is coming into the game on a six-game losing streak. As for Bel Air, they will head out on the road to square off against Del Valle at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
