The St. Pius X Warriors won the last time they faced the Savannah Savages, and things went their way on Monday too. St. Pius X sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 34-31 victory over Savannah.
St. Pius X's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Kate Sell led the charge by scoring 11 points along with two steals. Another player making a difference was Macy Wilderson, who scored seven points along with five rebounds and three steals.
St. Pius X's win bumped their record up to 9-11. As for Savannah, their loss dropped their record down to 10-12.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. St. Pius X's road trip will continue as they head out to face Cameron at 7:00 p.m. on February 9th. Hopefully St. Pius X focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 13 on Monday. As for Savannah, they will head out on the road to face off against Chillicothe at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Savannah will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Missouri Rankings (they are ranked 184th, while Chillicothe is ranked 14th).
