The KIPP Esperanza Eagles can finally bid farewell to their five-game losing streak thanks to their game on Thursday. They snuck past East Palo Alto Academy with a 35-31 win. The win was just what KIPP Esperanza needed coming off of a 72-45 defeat in their prior contest.
Leading KIPP Esperanza to victory were Tuli Vea and Jaylen Bush. Vea scored 12 points, while Bush scored 13 points. That makes it two consecutive games in which Bush has scored at least 25% of KIPP Esperanza's points.
KIPP Esperanza's victory bumped their record up to 2-6. As for East Palo Alto Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-1.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. KIPP Esperanza will take on Luis Valdez Leadership Academy at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for East Palo Alto Academy, they will be playing at home against KIPP San Jose Collegiate at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
