The Rising Sun Tigers will head out on the road to take on the Harford Tech Cobras at 6:45 p.m. on Monday. Given that both teams suffered a loss in their last game, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this contest.
After a string of four wins, Rising Sun's good fortune finally ran out on Thursday. They ended up on the wrong side of a rough 48-27 walloping at the hands of Fallston. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Rising Sun has scored all season.
Meanwhile, things could have been worse for Harford Tech, but they could have been a whole lot better as they took a 43-28 loss to Manchester Valley on Friday. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Harford Tech in their matchups with Manchester Valley: they've now lost seven in a row.
Despite their loss, Harford Tech saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Jordan Strang, who scored seven points along with nine rebounds and three steals, was perhaps the best of all. Strang is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as she's now pulled down eight or more in the last eight games she's played. Another player making a difference was Sophia Mace, who scored six points along with six rebounds and two steals.
Rising Sun's defeat dropped their record down to 14-4. As for Harford Tech, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four games, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-11 record this season.
Everything came up roses for Rising Sun against Harford Tech when the teams last played back in January as the team secured a 62-16 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Rising Sun since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
