Lincolnwood is 0-5 against Nokomis since January of 2020 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Wednesday. Having just played yesterday, the Lincolnwood Lancers will jump right back in to play the Nokomis Redskins at 12:00 p.m. Lincolnwood is hoping to put an end to a seven-game streak of away losses.
On Tuesday, Lincolnwood was beaten by Carlinville 52-17. Lincolnwood was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 27-6.
Meanwhile, Nokomis beat New Berlin/Franklin/Waverly 49-42 on Tuesday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Nokomis.
Nokomis found their leader in underclassman Kinley Stolte, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and 19 rebounds. Those 19 rebounds set a new season-high mark for her. The team also got some help courtesy of Mackenzie Mehochko, who scored six points.
Lincolnwood has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost eight of their last nine games, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-12 record this season. As for Nokomis, their win bumped their record up to 9-6.
Lincolnwood was dealt a bruising 58-19 defeat at the hands of Nokomis when the teams last played back in January. Can Lincolnwood avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
