Meanwhile, Heritage Christian stacked an eighth blowout win onto their ever-increasing hoard on Thursday. They really took it to St. John's Northwestern Military Academy for the full four quarters, racking up a 76-40 win at home. With Heritage Christian ahead 42-19 at the half, the matchup was all but over already.
Desmond Jones was his usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 26 points and ten rebounds. He is trending in the right direction, as he's improved his point production for three games straight. Mike Bowen Jr. was another key contributor, scoring 15 points along with eight rebounds and two steals.
Messmer's defeat dropped their record down to 4-15. As for Heritage Christian, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 12 of their last 14 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 16-4 record this season.
Messmer was dealt a bruising 106-62 defeat at the hands of Heritage Christian in their previous matchup on Saturday. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Bowen Jr., who dropped a double-double on 25 points and 11 rebounds.
