Shenango moved up to 342 from 396 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in WPIAL A Big Seven. The Wildcats climbed the ranks as a result of a 29-0 win over Our Lady of the Sacred Heart.
Rochester extended the longest winning streak in the league this week by beating Western Beaver, 41-6. The win marks fifth in a row for the the Rams.
Cameron Johnson put up the best numbers through the air as the Chargers lost to Shenango. He finished with seven completions for 79 yards. Johnson's favorite target this week was Joseph Sebes, who caught three passes for 37 yards.
Cameron McCoy was the most productive running back in the league this week. In 14 carries, he ran for 92 yards as South Side lost to Neshannock. Nolan Lamont also contributed to the rushing game with 37 yards on the ground.
Fayad was the best wideout in WPIAL A Big Seven this week as the Rams fell to the Lancers. Fayad tallied four receptions for 46 yards. James Beaumont helped South Side's passing attack out by catching two balls for 17 yards.
6-foot-0 quarterback Joe Salmen of Union Area is the league leader in passing yards this season with 519. He has also thrown six touchdowns. On the ground, Our Lady of the Sacred Heart's Isiah Neely has rushed for 532 yards which leads the league. The leading receiver in the league this season is Nick Miller. The Western Beaver star has six catches for 174 yards.
The top two teams in the league will face off this week when first place Rochester takes on second place Neshannock. Last week, Rochester defeated the Golden Beavers, while Neshannock topped South Side.
Sto-Rox and Northgate played the most hotly contested game in the league this week, with Sto-Rox eventually emerging with a 35-31 victory.
