Bishop Lynch made up a huge gap compared to their last game against North Mesquite, but they still couldn't quite topple them. The Bishop Lynch Friars' pitcher stepped up to hand the North Mesquite Stallions an 18-0 shutout on Friday. The Friars might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won four matchups by eight runs or more this season.

Aliyah Cahill made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, tossing three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Cahill was also big at the plate, scoring two runs while going 1-for-3.

In other batting news, Bishop Lynch got a massive performance out of Anna Medaris, who scored three runs and stole three bases while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances. With that strong performance, Medaris is now averaging an impressive 1.1 stolen bases per game. Aaliyah Bryant was another key player, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with two stolen bases, three runs, and four RBI.

Bishop Lynch always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .667. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as North Mesquite only posted an OBP of .083.

The win got Bishop Lynch back to even at 4-4. As for North Mesquite, they dropped their record down to 2-13 with the defeat, which was their seventh straight at home.

Coming up, Bishop Lynch will take on Poteet at 12:15 p.m. on Saturday. As for North Mesquite, they will square off against Seagoville at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Seagoville has struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 11 runs per game on average), something North Mesquite will no doubt try to take advantage of.
