It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but the Rye Country Day Wildcats had no problem doing just that on Friday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Poly Prep Country Day 38-6 on the road. The result was nothing new for Rye Country Day, who have now won three matchups by 30 points or more so far this season.
Cole Denson was his usual excellent self, rushing for 207 yards and four touchdowns while picking up 10.4 yards per carry. Denson is on a roll when it comes to rushing yards, as he's now rushed for 100 or more in the last five games he's played.
When it comes to explaining why Poly Prep Country Day lost, one person who can't be blamed is Trent Winston. Despite the final result, he rushed for 133 yards and a touchdown while picking up 7.8 yards per carry.
The win was the fifth in a row for Rye Country Day, bringing their record for this year to 7-2. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 30.4 points per game. As for Poly Prep Country Day, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-3.
