Anahuac has gone 9-1 against East Chambers recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Monday. The Anahuac Panthers are taking a road trip to take on the East Chambers Buccaneers at 6:30 p.m. East Chambers took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on Anahuac, who comes in off a win.
Anahuac is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They were the clear victor by a 17-0 margin over Warren on Friday. The Panthers not only won on Friday, but they posted their biggest win since March 26, 2024.
Brecken Wilpitz made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Those zero hits allowed gave her a new career-low. She was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run and stealing Two bases. She has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times she's played.

In other batting news, Hannah Mckenzie and Jayda Granger did most of the damage at the plate: Mckenzie went a perfect 3-for-3 with five RBI, three doubles, and two runs, while Granger scored three runs and stole Three bases. while going 3-for-3. The dominant performance also gave Granger a new career-high in RBI (three). Another player making a difference was Kaitlynn McDaniel, who scored three runs and stole a base while getting on base in all three of her plate appearances.
Anahuac always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .704. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Meanwhile, after a string of six wins, East Chambers' good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They came up short against Orangefield, falling 8-0. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Buccaneers have suffered since February 21st.
Isabella Quave spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered eight runs (all of which were unearned) on four hits.
The win made it two in a row for Anahuac and bumps their season record up to 10-2-2. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.0 run on average over those games. As for East Chambers, their loss dropped their record down to 13-6-1.
Anahuac came out on top in a nail-biter against East Chambers when the teams last played back in April of 2024, sneaking past 1-0. The rematch might be a little tougher for Anahuac since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
