Westmont is a perfect 3-0 against Walther Christian Academy since March of 2016 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Friday. The Sentinels will venture away from home to take on the Broncos at 4:30 p.m. Westmont is coming into the game hot, having won their last nine games.
On Wednesday, Westmont got the win against Northtown by a conclusive 20-1. Considering the Sentinels have won 15 contests by more than six runs this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.
Rocco Damato and Nathaniel Ollier were major factors no matter where they played. On the mound, Damato tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Meanwhile, Ollier tossed three innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. What's more, he posted five strikeouts, the most he's had since back in March of 2024. At bat, Damato got on base in all four of his plate appearances with three RBI and one run, while Ollier went 1-for-3 with two runs and two RBI.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Briggs Templeton, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI. He has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times he's played. Jaxson Chinea was another key player, getting on base in two of his three plate appearances with two stolen bases and three runs.
Westmont always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .656. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Northtown only posted an OBP of .353.
Meanwhile, Walther Christian Academy fell victim to Holy Trinity and their airtight pitching crew on Wednesday. They came up short against the Tigers, falling 17-0. The Broncos haven't had much luck with the Tigers recently, as the team has come up short the last eight times they've met.
Westmont pushed their record up to 19-8-1 with the victory, which was their 11th straight at home. The home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.5 runs over those games. As for Walther Christian Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-9.
Everything went Westmont's way against Walther Christian Academy in their previous matchup back in April, as Westmont made off with a 17-2 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Sentinels since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
