The Los Osos Grizzlies will head out on the road to face off against the South Hills Huskies at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Given that the pair suffered a loss in their last game, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this match.
Last Friday, Los Osos lost to Colony on the road by a decisive 31-13 margin. While losing is never fun, Los Osos can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California football rankings (they are ranked 302nd, while Colony is ranked 148th).
Although Los Osos took the loss, they still got scores from Nicolas Martinez and Mason Overacker.
Meanwhile, South Hills pushed their score all the way to 34 on Friday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They fell to Glendora 38-34. South Hills has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Matthew Moreno put forth a good effort for the losing side as he rushed for 122 yards and three touchdowns, and also picked up 113 receiving yards. Another player making a difference was Danny Resendiz, who rushed for 66 yards and a touchdown on only eight carries.
Los Osos' loss dropped their record down to 5-4. As for South Hills, they now have a losing record at 4-5.
Everything went Los Osos' way against South Hills in their previous meeting back in October of 2022 as Los Osos made off with a 28-7 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Los Osos since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
