Colonial Christian is 3-0 against Heartland Christian since February of 2021, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. Last Tuesday, Colonial Christian was the victim of a tough 66-43 loss at the hands of Indiana Christian Academy. Colonial Christian has struggled against Indiana Christian Academy recently, as their game last Tuesday was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.
Despite the defeat, Colonial Christian had strong showings from Clayton Gannon, who scored 18 points, and Josias Lafontaine, who scored 12 points. Gannon scored a full 41.9% of Colonial Christian's points, the second time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points.
Meanwhile, Heartland Christian really took it to Northpoint HomeSchool for the full four quarters, racking up a 71-18 victory at home. The contest was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 48-9.
Landon Clemens and Bryce Youngquist were among the main playmakers for Heartland Christian as the former scored 17 points along with 6 rebounds and the latter scored 18 points. The match was Clemens' eighth in a row with at least ten points. Reagan Clemens was another key contributor, scoring 7 points.
The losses dropped Colonial Christian to 0-2 and Indiana Christian Academy to 3-3.
Colonial Christian took their win against Heartland Christian when the teams last played back in February of 2022 by a conclusive 77-55. One of the biggest obstacles trying to stand in the way of that victory was Heartland Christian's Ethan Clemens, who scored 27 points. Now that he won't be playing on Friday, will it be that much easier for Colonial Christian to walk away with another win? There's only one way to find out.
