It's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 70-37, which was the final score in Starmount's tilt against South Stokes. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Starmount in their matchups with South Stokes: they've now lost seven in a row.
Despite their defeat, Starmount saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Corey Armstrong, who almost dropped a double-double on nine points and nine rebounds, was perhaps the best of all. It was the first time this season that Armstrong pulled down eight or more rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Colton Allen, who scored eight points along with seven rebounds.
Meanwhile, Alleghany strolled past Elkin with points to spare on Friday, taking the game 52-38. The win made it back-to-back wins for Alleghany.
