The Freedom Patriots lost against the King Lions back in February, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. Freedom was just a bucket shy of victory and fell 51-50 to King. Freedom has not had much luck with King recently, as the team's come up short the last two times they've met.
King got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Julien Barnett out in front who dropped a double-double on 17 points and 10 rebounds. That makes it three consecutive games in which Barnett has scored at least 25% of King's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Ian McLargin, who dropped a double-double on 10 points and 10 rebounds.
Freedom's loss dropped their record down to 2-1. As for King, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 2-3.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Freedom will square off against Wiregrass Ranch at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. Wiregrass Ranch has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 227 points over their last three matchups. As for King, they will head out on the road to face off against Middleton at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Middleton is still on the hunt for that elusive first 'W'.
