The Allatoona Buccaneers came tearing into Friday's match with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 6.3 points) and they left with even more momentum. They walked away with a 64-55 victory over Lassiter. The win was all the more spectacular given Allatoona's disadvantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 322nd, while Lassiter is ranked 54th).
When it comes to explaining why Lassiter lost, one person who can't be blamed is Kyhir Torrence. Despite the final result, he scored 25 points. Those 25 points set a new season-high mark for him. Jaden Emmanuelli was another key contributor, scoring 12 points.
Allatoona pushed their record up to 6-4 with that win, which was their third straight on the road. As for Lassiter, they have been struggling recently, as they've lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-3 record this season.
Allatoona will be staying on the road on Friday to face off against Chamblee at 3:00 p.m. on December 22nd. As for Lassiter, their homestand continues as they prepare to take on Walker at 3:00 p.m. on December 16th. Walker knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past three matches -- so hopefully Lassiter likes a good challenge.
