North Sequoia recap September 17, 2013
Sierra's Brent Smith recorded the longest rushing play in North Sequoia this season in his game against Fowler last week. Smith ran for 94 yards on the play and finished with 129 on the day as his team beat the Redcats.
Kerman moved up to 527 from 660 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in the league. The Lions were able to make move up by beating Coalinga 24-22.
Liberty's dynamic duo of Luke Cullins and Logan Pierce proved tough for Madera South to stop, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Cullins threw for 81 yards and Pierce had 73 yards receiving.
The Hawks' dynamic duo of Cullins and Pierce proved to be unstoppable against the Stallions, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week.
Pierce was the best receiver in the league this week as Liberty topped Madera South.
Smith was the best running back in North Sequoia this week. Teammate Gage McAdams added to the ground attack by rushing for 91 yards.
Smith provided a threat through the air and on the ground as Sierra beat Fowler. Smith's favorite target this week was Mike Waters, who caught 6 passes for 49 yards.
Cullins put up the best numbers through the air as Mike Nolte's team defeated Scott Donegan's team.
Kerman's Evan Sagariballa and Jorge Godinez have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. 5-10 quarterback Sagariballa has thrown for 298 yards this season, while Godinez has 10 catches for 155 yards. Wade Wallace from the Hawks leads the league in rushing with 230 yards.
Liberty and the Stallions played the closest game in the league this week, with Liberty eventually emerging with a 14-13 victory. Richie Brandt ran for 109 yards during the win.
