On Thursday Willamina take on Monroe at 7:00 PM. The odds don't look promising for Willamina, but the bigger the opponent is, the harder they fall.
Last Friday, Willamina had a bit more than a touchdown to spare in a 33-20 win over Yamhill-Carlton. Willamina's success was spearheaded by the efforts of sophomore Ruben Rizo, who rushed for 116 yards and 1 touchdown, and senior Nick Colton, who caught passes for 108 yards and 2 touchdowns. In fact, with 10 tackles Colton was a force on both sides of the ball.
Meanwhile, everything went Monroe's way against Toledo as they made off with a 54-26 victory.
Their wins lifted both teams to an identical 3-1. We'll see which team can carry over their success and which team inevitably falls when Willamina and Monroe clash.
