Walker Valley came into Friday's matchup looking for another win against Knoxville Catholic, but Cade Murphy wouldn't allow it. The Knoxville Catholic Fighting Irish came out on top against the Walker Valley Mustangs by a score of 76-65 on Friday thanks in part to Murphy, who went 11 of 16 on his way to 31 points in addition to six boards and three steals. The contest was his third in a row with at least ten points.

The team also got some help courtesy of Brady Renfree, who went 5 for 8 on his way to 15 points and eight rebounds. He continues to improve, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played.

The win made it two in a row for Knoxville Catholic and bumps their season record up to 11-4. As for Walker Valley, with the defeat, they broke their nine-game winning streak and moved their record to 14-2.

Knoxville Catholic will venture away from home to square off against McCallie at 7:00 p.m. on January 10th. As for Walker Valley, they will welcome Christian Academy of Knoxville at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. One thing working in Walker Valley's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points every time they've taken the court this season.
