Basketball Recap: Liberty Tree Academy's Win on Wednesday Extends Winning Streak to Four

Liberty Tree Academy extended their winning streak to four games thanks to a huge performance from Kaleb Mendez. The Liberty Tree Academy War Eagles claimed a resounding 69-28 victory over the Monument Academy Lynx thanks in part to Mendez, who went 12 for 19 on his way to 28 points in addition to eight rebounds and six steals. The matchup was his fourth in a row with at least ten points.

The team also got some help courtesy of Jaydence Smith, who posted 14 points along with six boards and five assists. He has been hot, having also posted three or more steals the last eight times he's played.

Liberty Tree Academy's win bumped their record up to 5-2. As for Monument Academy, they are on a six-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-4.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Liberty Tree Academy will face off against Lotus School For Excellence at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Liberty Tree Academy has been dominant on offense recently, having racked up an incredible 182 points over their last three contests. As for Monument Academy, they will square off against Thomas MacLaren School at 7:00 p.m. on Monday.
