Neshannock put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their perfect season alive. They walked away with a 6-2 victory over the Laurel Spartans. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 14-4 on April 2nd.
Addy Frye spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered two runs (both of which were unearned) on four hits and racked up 13 Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up a single earned run in six consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, Payton Newman was excellent, going 2-for-4 with three RBI, one run, and one double. Those three RBI gave her a new career-high. Ella Skodak also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen base of the season.
Neshannock pushed their record up to 12-0 with the win, which was their 15th straight on the road dating back to last season. The road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.8 runs on average over those games. As for Laurel, they moved to 7-4 with that defeat, which also ended their four-game winning streak.
