The Pine Ridge Panthers had to endure a three-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They walked away with a 53-41 victory over Seabreeze on Monday. This was a revenge contest for Pine Ridge, as the team was forced to settle for a 45-27 defeat when these two played last Tuesday.
Pine Ridge's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Kaylee Roman, who scored 17 points along with three steals. Roman is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed three or more in the last six games she's played. Serenity Cressor was another key contributor, almost dropping a double-double on nine points and 12 rebounds.
Despite the loss, Seabreeze still got an impressive performance from Sarahnoel Randolph, who almost dropped a double-double on nine points and 14 rebounds. Randolph is crushing the rebound category: she's posted at least nine every time she's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Amira Ferguson, who scored seven points along with six steals.
Pine Ridge's win bumped their record up to 6-13. As for Seabreeze, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 4-13.
Pine Ridge will be playing in front of their home fans against the Wolves at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Hopefully Deltona focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 30 on Tuesday. As for Seabreeze, they won't have much time to rest: their next match is against the Lions at 6:00 p.m. on January 30th. Calvary Christian Academy is coming into the matchup on a six-game losing streak.
