The Chattahoochee Cougars came into Tuesday's game having lost four straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They secured a 53-48 W over Centennial on Tuesday. This was payback for Chattahoochee, who suffered a 32-23 defeat the last time these two teams met.
Chattahoochee's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Riley Berninger, who scored ten points along with seven rebounds and two steals. Berninger hasn't dropped below two steals for three straight games. Brooklinne Dorr was another key contributor, scoring 12 points along with eight rebounds and two steals.
Several Knights players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Jasmine Perez, who scored 20 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Diamond Leslie, who scored 14 points.
Chattahoochee's win bumped their record up to 15-9. As for Centennial, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matchups, which is still a better percentage than their 5-16 record this season.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Chattahoochee will take on North Springs at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Chattahoochee is on a five-game streak of home losses, North Springs a three-game streak of away losses, but someone's luck is about to change. Centennial will take on Cambridge at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
