The Arickaree Bison won against the Front Range Baptist Falcons on Thursday with 53 points and they decided to stick to that point total again on Saturday. Arickaree snuck past Front Range Baptist with a 53-48 win. The victory was just business as usual for Arickaree, who after three games remain undefeated this season.
NICHOLAS HERMES was the offensive standout of the match as he scored 22 points along with five steals. The matchup was his third in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was ZARRON SKUBAL, who scored nine points along with five rebounds.
Front Range Baptist lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Benjamin VanDenBerghe, who scored ten points along with eight rebounds and three steals. VanDenBerghe set a new season high mark in blocks with two. Alex Prelog was another key contributor, scoring 11 points along with seven rebounds and six steals.
Even though they lost, Front Range Baptist were smashing the offensive glass and finished the game with 13 offensive rebounds. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Arickaree only pulled down five offensive rebounds.
Arickaree's victory was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 3-0. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 62.0 points per game. As for Front Range Baptist, their loss dropped their record down to 4-1.
Arickaree will head out on the road to face off against Weldon Valley at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Weldon Valley will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Colorado Rankings (they are ranked 309th, while Arickaree is ranked 49th). Front Range Baptist will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Dawson School at 7:30 p.m. on December 19th.
