The Delta Rabbits will face off against the Canyon View Falcons at 1:00 p.m. on Monday. The last five games Delta has played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.
The home team had come away the winner the last five times Delta and Juab had met, but sadly for the fans who attended this one that wasn't the case. The Rabbits fell just short of the Wasps by a score of 9-8 on Friday.
Roper Crane made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored a run and stole two bases while going 2-for-4. The team also got some help courtesy of Carson Nielson, who scored two runs while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.
Meanwhile, Canyon View entered their tilt with Carbon on Friday with ten consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with 11. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Dinos a 10-0 shutout. The Falcons might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won seven games by six runs or more this season.
Zach Maine was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run over five innings pitched. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in five consecutive appearances. He was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring two runs while going 2-for-3. What's more, he posted two doubles, the most he's had since back in May of 2024.
In other batting news, Jarron Bradshaw was a standout: he scored three runs and stole two bases while going 3-for-4. Those two stolen bases gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Price Atwood, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 3-for-4.
Canyon View kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 16 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in eight consecutive matches.
Canyon View's win was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 14-3. The home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.2 runs over those games. As for Delta, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-7.
Monday's contest might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Delta has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .443. However, it's not like Canyon View struggles in that department as they've averaged .463. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Delta suffered a grim 14-1 defeat to Canyon View when the teams last played back in April of 2024. Will the Rabbits have more luck at home instead of on the road? Come back here after the game to get an analysis of the match and other baseball content.
