NUEVO, Calif. - Coast Union (Cambria, Calif.) came into Saturday's contest ranked No. 9 in California, but was stunned by
Nuview Bridge (Nuevo, Calif.), 57-15. Nuview Bridge was ranked at No. 14 in the MaxPreps Freeman Rankings for California coming into the week.
The Knights were up 36-15 at the half after taking the lead on a two-point conversion in the first quarter.
Nuview Bridge expanded its lead to 42 points entering the fourth quarter. NB scored four times in the third, including once on a McElroy touchdown run.
Dane Futrell played well for the Nuevo school in the victory. The senior threw one touchdown and ran for four touchdowns. He has now scored 26 touchdowns on the season.
The Knights came into the game allowing 16.7 points per game.
